Health and Safety
GENERAL POLICY STATEMENT
This statement is a working document, and forms part of the East Block Group policy. It is to be kept at head office, and is to be available for all employees, Contractors and Clients. All relevant documents are to be kept up to date, and where required completed by the relevant person before work is carried out.
The Company Directors, shall ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare of all employees as required by the currently applied legislation.
The company will provide for every employee, so far as is reasonably practicable:
Adequate control of health and safety risks arising from our work activities and to maintain safe and healthy working conditions
The provision of safe systems of work based on the assessment of risk, to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health such as stress. Also, to cover the increased risks with, lone, young, and vulnerable workers.
The provision and maintenance of safe plant and equipment
Adequate training, instruction, and complementary information to ensure level of competency of every employee to do their tasks, in respect of their health and safety which may arise out of their work or workplace
The provision of protective clothing and safety equipment to conform to statutory requirements
Arrangements for the safe use, handling, storing, and transporting of equipment, substances, and materials
Accepting that professional management of Health & Safety forms part of the Company’s overall business objectives, the management is committed to the prevention of personal injury and damage to property. Equally, it is committed to protect everyone, including the public, subcontractors, in so far as they encounter the Company or its activities, from any foreseeable hazard or danger.
The Company will encourage its employees to recognise their individual duty to co-operate in the implementation of the Health & Safety Policy by promoting:
Working safely by following procedures and implementing safe systems at work.
Meeting their statutory duties
Reporting accidents and incidents which have or may lead to injury or damage
Actively participate in continuous improvement
The Company undertakes to provide the necessary and adequate resources for implementation of the Policy, as well as to review the Policy on an annual basis.
